At 59, rue du Faubourg Saint-Honoré, the House of Cardin unveils Venice ’59, its
new fall/winter 2026-2027 collection conceived as a reflection on the future. What if
fashion became the voice of the world of tomorrow ?
Faced with the climate emergency, the brand embraces its role as a laboratory for
the future and seeks to adapt to rising sea levels.
Among the first cities under threat, Venice holds a unique place. Long accustomed to
Acqua Alta, the Serenissima could, as early as the 2060s, see its streets, shops, and
residents gradually disappear under the effect of increasingly frequent tides.
In response to this prospect, Venice ’59 presents itself both as a tribute and a vision.
The collection draws on the timeless imagery of the city – its masks, its capes, the
mysterious elegance of its carnival, and projects it into a possible future where
creativity, science, and environmental awareness enter into dialogue.
For several years, Rodrigo Cardin has been developing within the House a research
laboratory dedicated to a visionary idea: garments of extreme lightness, almost
immaterial, worn over suits capable of interacting with the body and regulating its
temperature.
These intelligent textiles, combined with mechanical devices and technical
accessories, outline a new relationship between the body, energy, and the
environment.
The materials used also reflect this commitment: fabrics from the House’s dormant
stock, recycled fibers, and materials sourced worldwide for their controlled
environmental impact.
Through around sixty designs, a proposal emerges: to imagine a future where
technology and sensuality coexist—aware of the world to come, yet without
renouncing the momentum of creation. Innovation becomes the key to our resilience.
